320i - E21 Front brake question

Swapping the 914 front calipers to a 320i front calipers. We got the whole kit, but no anti squel shims. Are these critical?

Oddly there seem to be 2 different styles that go with the part number.

Im assuming it’s like the e30 and the front calipers have a version made my either ate or girling. Calipers are interchangeable as long as you use the corresponding mounting bracket. I don’t know if that holds true in your case though. I’d just use plastilube for antisqueal .

That diagram looks nothing like either option from an e30.
